The abandonment of naturopathy and yet a sociocultural approach

The integration of traditional medicine into the DRC's healthcare system is an innovation eagerly awaited by traditional medicine practitioners to promote and enhance the value of this mother medicine. Faced with multiple challenges in the exercise of their profession traditional practitioners find their mission baffled and their visions held back by those who hold the baton of command resulting in confusion in their service and sometimes imputing faults and offences they have not committed. The WHO recognizing the value of traditional medicine has put in place strategies to integrate traditional medicine into the health system of all its member countries including the DRC. The Congolese government in integrating traditional medicine has put in place regulatory texts which to this day suffer from accompanying and enforcement measures.
