The Acceptable Year of the Lord

<p>After His Baptism Our Lord Jesus Christ entered the synagogue in Nazareth and read these words from the scroll of the Prophet Isaiah: </p><p></p><p></p><p>The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me Because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent me to heal the broken-hearted To proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind To set at liberty those who are oppressed To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.</p><p></p><p>Then He said Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.</p><p></p><p>This small volume contains four collections celebrating that acceptable year of the Lord: <em>Poems for the Great Feasts; Twelve Poems of Christmas; Selected Poems; and The Lord's Gospel Commands. </em>In our challenging times may it bless those who read it as it has blessed me to write it and may your year be blessed.</p><p></p><p>- Magdalen</p>
