Suddenly on every street corner failing pubs are being re-branded with shamrocks and shillelaghs into caricatures of the good auld Irish boozer and Birmingham is no exception. The Brummie Irish are stepping out to the gaelic reels and jigs spilling from every pub doorway but all is not what it seems. Somewhere beneath the shamrocks shadow the Birmingham I.R.A are calling the tune. The cash cow known as The Cause is dying on its feet because of the ever-present threat of peace in the six counties of Northern Ireland leaving I.R.A. members without the lucrative income theyve become accustomed to. Now the ex-paramilitaries turn their attention to grabbing as much cash as possible before the whole republican movement gets snubbed out by peace.Davey Keogh works the music circuit playing Irish songs and tunes to the ever-growing crowds packing the citys theme pubs to the rafters. After a chance meeting with a mysterious blonde at one of his gigs the hapless musician is drawn into Birminghams shadowy underworld where Godfather gangsters rule like Kings Irish assassins stalk the guilty and romance could turn out to be a very deadly affair.
