The African Maid

<p>Esther's mother Ewa could not survive the times without doing menial jobs. She becomes the maid of the people. Upon this her efforts to pay for the excursion to the airport Esther holds most dear are frustrated.</p><p>The landlord is a challenge. He wants all his rent. Her employers are not helping ... they do not often pay her the right wages.</p><p>Her last chance to get a job is on her birthday. But her only inheritance: a bead necklace she wears on that day attracted a photographer to her and makes her lose the chance.</p><p>The greatness of the bead necklace as legend has it soon justifies Ewa's plight against the tradition that has degraded her as a girl to a lady. Her new role as the Face of Africa makes her the African maid of great esteem. Esther could die to believe all that come with it.</p><p></p>
