The Apocrypha

The Apocrypha comprises a collection of religious texts primarily written in Greek that are included in some Christian Bibles but not in others. These texts composed during the intertestamental period between the Old and New Testaments offer historical narratives wisdom literature prayers and apocalyptic visions. Examples include Tobit Judith Wisdom of Solomon and Ecclesiasticus (Sirach). While not considered divinely inspired by most Protestant Christians they are regarded as canonical by the Roman Catholic Church and Eastern Orthodox Churches.
