<p>Dr. Joseph Barber Lightfoot was born in Liverpool England in 1828. He was educated at Cambridge and Oxford and became Lord Bishop of Durham in the Church of England. He served as minister in St. Paul's Cathedral London and later was Professor of Divinity at Cambridge University. He was one of the original members of the New Testament Company of Bible Revisers. Dr. Lightfoot is best known for his remarkable scholarship evidenced in his Commentaries on Galatians Philippians Colossians and Philemon.</p>
