The Apparel Design : A Text Book

Home Science education is that part of the learning programmes which prepare the student for the greatest of all vocations. It helps the development of right values and appreciation. The study of Home Science is gaining tremendous importance and a women’s education is considered incomplete without it. Home Science is a multidisciplinary subject. Clothing and textile is one of the important subject of Home science and  “The Apparel Design” is  the core of this subject which gives valuable knowledge regarding the Pattern making seams fabric construction garment component design and fitting. The Indian textile industry has an overwhelming presence in the economic life of the country. The present day learners have the responsibility of acquiring accurate information and applying it both in personal living and professional field. The purpose of writing this book is to standard textual material to the students pursuing their in Home Science. However very few relevant books are available on this subject. This book is written according to the new syllabus prescribed by the University of Kashmir for the students. It is written in a simple and easy language so that all the categories- low achievers and high achievers may be benefited.
