The Art of Rebellion: Dispatches from Hong Kong

One of the most explosive radicalisations of the twenty-first century swept Hong Kong in 2019-20 as a campaign against an extradition bill transformed into a mass rebellion for democratic rights. After millions took to the streets in peaceful demonstrations the local government unleashed waves of repression. Undeterred tens of thousands of young workers and high school and university students backed by an immense solidarity movement held their ground against heavily armed police across the territory.
