When Jonah Hale comes to Paul Madriani with a desperate problem Paul knows his dream of a quite life in San Diego must go on hold. Jonahs granddaughter Amanda is missing snatched by her drug addict mother with the help of the charismatic feminist leader Zolanda Zo Suade. Amid allegations that Jonah abused Amanda and is unfit to have custody Paul watches his clients anger turn to rage. Then Zo is found murdered and the police immediately arrest Jonah. Even Paul cant be certain that the old man didnt do it. But when another suspect moves into the frame someone who may also want Amanda and her mother dead Paul finds himself on a frantic hunt to find them as much to uncover evidence as to save lives.
