The bara dance

This book is about an intangible cultural heritage under serious threat. In Mali today many elements have disappeared or are in decline. Such is the case of the bara dance. The bara is a majestic dance performed with sticks. This cultural heritage was widely practiced by the local population. It was danced on a number of occasions such as traditional celebrations victory over the enemy and so on. Today it has been supplanted by new dances.
