The Second Army Maneuvers were part of a series of annual military training exercises that would occur across the United States in the second half of the 1930's. In 1936 the Army held the Second Army Maneuvers in the V Corps Area of Ft. Knox Kentucky and the VI Corps area near Camp Custer Michigan which is the subject of this work.The book covers the events leading up to the maneuvers including why the location was selected the development and background of the plan and logistical challenges of holding such an event. The book provides a detailed order of battle for the maneuver and breaks down the action day by day. Casualties accidents and anecdotes from the maneuvers are covered and the impacts of the event on the shaping of our World War Two army are discussed.
