<p>The Greatest Generation was called to acts of uncommon bravery to defend the fate of Europe Asia and the Free World from the Axis Powers. As more of them are laid to rest it is more important than ever that we document and remember their stories.</p><p> </p><p>This is the story of just one of them - Roy J. Boyter of the 29<sup>th</sup> Division 2<sup>nd</sup> Batallion 115<sup>th</sup> Infantry Regiment Company E. Roy served in the US Army between July 1943 and October of 1945 - a time of rapid developments and conflict. Roy survived a stint as a prisoner of war and was awarded the Purple Heart for his distinguished service.</p><p> </p><p><span style=color: rgba(34 34 34 1)>From his early beginnings in 1925 to his death in 2018 Roy carried with him the lessons and wisdom of his time in combat.
