The Second Great Awakening left significant marks in American church history. One of the results of the Second Great Awakening was a bountiful harvest of souls. Related to this result its methodology of awakening or revivals especially New Measures was carved in the history of American revival movement. However in 1827 at the New Lebanon Convention two prominent revival leaders Charles G. Finney and Asahel Nettleton came into conflict with each other concerning the new measures. What led them to have different views on the New Measures? This book examines the formative impact of their understanding religious experience in order to provide a deeper understanding of the different views on revivals.
