The Book of Deuteronomy is the fifth book of the Bible and serves as a retelling and reaffirmation of the Law given to the Israelites. In Deuteronomy Moses reiterates the Ten Commandments and expands upon various laws and statutes that govern the community''s social moral and religious life. The book stresses the importance of loving God with all one''s heart soul and might and it establishes guidelines for worship including the centralization of worship in the place that God would choose. Moses warns the people of the dangers of disobedience and idolatry urging them to remember their history and the consequences of turning away from God.
