About The Book

The Big Time takes place during an epic conflict known as the Change War. The Change War is a cosmic conflict waged between two factions the Spiders and the Snakes who manipulate time and history to gain an advantage over one another. The story follows the protagonist Greta Forzane a member of the Spiders. Greta is a Time-Soldier and works at a Rest and Recreation station known as the Place which serves as a refuge for soldiers in the Change War. The Place is an isolated pocket of time cut off from the rest of history where soldiers gather to rest and recover from their missions. As Greta settles into her routine at the Place strange events unfold. She encounters various characters with mysterious backgrounds and identities and she becomes entangled in a complex web of alliances and betrayals. The novel explores themes of identity loyalty and the nature of reality all within the backdrop of an interdimensional war. The Big Time is known for its unique narrative structure and introspective exploration of philosophical concepts. The story combines elements of time travel alternate history and metaphysical speculation. Leibers writing style is characterized by its wit clever dialogue and thought-provoking ideas.
