Oba Akintokunbo leaves his hometown in Ondo State for Lagos in search of a job. His university friend Solomon Jones accommodates him in his room-and-parlour apartment in Obalende. When Oba goes job hunting and isn’t successful  in getting a good job Ikenna a young man living in Solomon’s house approaches him with a job that involves scouting for voters for a political party in preparation for the upcoming general election.
