The Black Death

Plague sweeps through France the Black Death exacerbating the already considerable hardships of a people brought low by defeats against the English and the roving bands of Routiers who render the countryside entirely lawless. Into this mounting maelstrom Countess Isabel Flanders (nee Catherine Eddrington) is tasked by Helios to accompany Princess Joan King Edward's second and much loved daughter through the ravaged lands of France as she Progresses towards castile and her marriage to King Alfonso's eldest son Prince Pedro. The Countess is accompanies by her old friends Lord Cecil of Easebourne Captain of the Honour Guard and Will Turner the King's champion archer. The book is the sequel to 'The Alchemist's Daughter' set in fourteenth century France at the beginnings of the Hundred Year's War.
