The Black Lake

The Black Lake describes the adventures of Rob Jenkinson who is involved with a group that investigates matters that the regular police prefer to avoid. He uses his cover as a Rugby Union referee appointed to a Club Tournament for teams from various parts of Europe to look into the activities of some people that he knew many years beforehand. A French colleague of his is murdered and he consoles the dead man's sister Yvette who is also part of the investigating team. Despite being advised to leave the dangerous stuff to the professionals Rob and Yvette find themselves in deadly danger and receive assistance from a surprising source. Meanwhile there are rugby matches to referee and Rob manages to concentrate on the Tournament. Romance blossoms between Rob and Yvette.
