The story not only involves the love entanglements of young people but also deeply depicts the unusual emotions between Du Yi and Ya Zhen in their later years. At the same time the warm harmony of the Ji Yuan family contrasts sharply with the dramatic transformation of the Jiawen family from glory to decline showcasing the characters' emotional sincerity and fate twists and turns at different stages of life. The storyline of this book starts from Christmas in 1953 because it takes enough time to portray the tragedy of Jiawen and Xiangyi. In 1949 she followed her father Chen Zhiping from mainland China to Taiwan to start her writing career and later entered the film and television production industry.</p>
