The Bolsa Família Programme in school education

The Bolsa Família Programme is currently the largest cash transfer programme that has ever existed in Brazil. It aims to reduce poverty levels by reaching all families still living in extreme poverty in the country. The Bolsa Família programme includes conditionalities in the areas of education health and social assistance. This work looks at the conditionality in the area of education and through qualitative research within the space of coexistence in an elementary school analyses the views of the subjects involved in fulfilling this condition as well as reporting on their experiences within this programme.
