The Book of the Fay Queen

This is a book of fairy tales though not a book for children as some tales are quite grim. It is a book of short stories set amid a strange world of fairies banshees' giants and many creatures of myth. There are fewer moral lessons than in many more recent fairy stories and more a tone of older folklore. All the tales within have some connection with a spirit known only as the fay queen or the Lady. Who or what she is is never made clear but she is undoubtedly a creature of good nature.
