The Botanical Magazine Vol. 07

Volume 7 includes a range of plant species many of which were exotic or ornamental reflecting the growing interest in global plant exploration and the increasing availability of new species from around the world. The illustrations primarily by the artist James Sowerby are finely detailed and capture the distinguishing features of each plant such as flowers leaves and fruit. Each plant entry is accompanied by a description that provides information on its botanical characteristics uses and native habitat enhancing the practical value of the publication for both scientific and horticultural purposes. As with the earlier volumes The Botanical Magazine Vol. 07 contributed to the development of botanical science and the art of botanical illustration.
