The Bridge to E-Invoicing for Swiss SME

Many governments and big corporations switch from paper-based business processes to electronic document and process flows. SME in Switzerland cannot resist this trend. Responding to market pressures many SME question their invoicing processes. The authors provide concrete direction to companies having to take a strategic decision concerning E-Invoicing. The work starts by clarifying the underlying concepts standards and definitions and giving an introduction into the most relevant laws and regulations in Switzerland. After illuminating the topic from various angles (e.g. technology operations practical experiences) the E-Invoicing solutions on the Swiss market are empirically analyzed systematized and rated using eight distinct criteria. Before selecting a solution the company has to evaluate its “need for action” and “capacity to act”. The book provides a self-assessment questionnaire to create the company’s profile. Finally the company’s decision maker gets support in determining “the most appropriate type of E Invoicing solution” by comparing the result from the self-assessment to the profiles of the rated solutions offered on the market.
