The Butterfly Net

The Butterfly Net is a tapestry of poetry written between 1996-2007. The topics span from the blood-covered battlefields of the civil war the era of the bubonic plaque in Venice and then chronicle the stages of life from childhood through college and adulthood. There is also poetry about the beauty of nature and everyday life. Many of the poems were inspired by movies that Christina enjoyed and books that she read. Wartime which has been published in several books was inspired by Stephan Cranes book The Red Badge of Courage and Dangerous Beauty a story about the Bubonic Plaque in Venice was written after Christina watched the movie of the same name. I live by this quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson Dare to live the life you have dreamed for yourself. Go forward and make your dreams come true. I hope you enjoy the book as much as I enjoyed writing it.
