THE CALL

An unexpected call inviting John to speak at his younger brother Paul's funeral service opens a Pandora's box of religious experiences that blighted his youth including his decision to join The Brotherhood of St. Columba. His efforts to recall the brother he scarcely knew lead him to revisit those experiences and ultimately embrace atheism as the foundation of his future. THE CALL draws upon the experiences of Catholic boys who were encouraged at a very early age to join religious orders in the 1950's and 1960's.
