The Canons of the Medieval Coptic Orthodox Church

<p>This book does not attempt to introduce the Copts to a modern audience or expand on the transition from Coptic/Greek to Arabic Egypt. Rather it attempts to make the canons of the medieval Coptic Church during that transition accessible to the modern reader. These canons are important as they are practiced and upheld today but extremely difficult to access for the vast majority of readers. This book also attempts to explain the context and the circumstances of their promulgation. Simply stated the goal of this book is to make the canons accessible to a modern audience and explore the reasoning behind each canon.</p>
