The Canterville Ghost is a short story by Oscar Wilde. One of his first stories to be published the story follows Mr. Otis and his family who move into a castle that is said to be haunted despite numerous warnings. Once there the family realises that the castle is indeed haunted by the ghost of Sir Simon a dead nobleman who killed his wife. Unlike Sir Simon’s previous targets the Otis family refuse to be scared and begin victimising and disregarding the spirit’s ability to strike fear in people.
