The cargo bike in urban commercial transport

According to various studies cargo bikes are a promising alternative to conventional vehicles used in urban commercial transport. In theory a large proportion of short-distance transport could be handled by cargo bikes.The reduction in noise and exhaust emissions would therefore be a key advantage of these vehicles. However the potential is hardly being exploited. Consequently this study investigated which types of companies already use cargo bikes and what conditions are essential for the use of these vehicles for internal commercial transport. In short this paper examines and discusses the drivers and obstacles to the integration of cargo bikes in companies.
