<p>I did not go into business to be a business person.</p><p><br></p><p>I first opened my coffee shop to be a community gathering place, somewhere my locals could call their own. For over a decade, my "one-horse-pony-show" entrepreneurial adventure has been full of highs and lows, trials and errors. This chronicle will speak to the challenges and successes of running a small business in the mountains of Colorado.</p><p><em>The CEOwner</em> will approach business ownership using the lens of conscious business techniques and community improvement. <em>The CEOwner </em>covers the process of building and planning your business profile from the very beginning; moves along to suggestions in ethical business management; and finishes with how to create a legacy beyond you as the business owner. You have great ideas for what your business will become. I want to help you build up this vision to become a business that people want to do business with. I want your business to improve the lives of your community and the world. Being a conscious business does not mean spending more and earning less. A business that cares about people and the planet can earn more than just a profit, and become an outstanding legacy.</p><p>I hope these lessons can inspire you and can be replicated and adjusted to help businesses of all sizes.
