THE CHALLENGES FACED BY ELECTRIC VEHICLE USERS IN CAMBODIA

This study examines the key challenges faced by Cambodian four-wheel EV users based on qualitative interviews with 25 current and potential EV owners and a review of existing literature. The findings highlight five major challenges: (1) inadequate charging infrastructure (2) high purchase and maintenance costs (3) battery performance and longevity concerns (4) environmental and infrastructure-related issues and (5) a limited resale market. The research underscores the importance of government incentives private investment and strategic policy interventions to overcome these barriers and facilitate broader EV adoption in Cambodia.
