Guided by Sola the self-erased Scribe who fears the mess of hope they face a gauntlet designed to break their will. They confront the <strong>Erasure Selves</strong> in the Mercury Lake forced to grapple with the tempting safe lives they rejected: Kaelen the content Farm Boy Barak the Cowardly Survivor and Elara the Tyrant Queen.</p><p>Their quest for Onyx leads them deeper into the Dragon's mind a physical structure collapsing under the weight of denial and corruption. They must survive the beautiful horror of <strong>Madame Glimmer</strong> the Avatar of Denial who preserves frozen corpses in a perpetual Gala to escape reality. They fight <strong>Void-Walkers</strong> and a <strong>Sound-Eraser</strong> that deletes sound and kinetic energy forcing them to learn to fight in absolute silence.</p><p>Finally reaching the core Kaelen dives into the Dragon's Subconscious reliving the horrific Redaction of Onyx's White Dragon mate <strong>Lumina</strong>. Varrick stole her name leaving Onyx with infinite grief but no memory-a madness Kaelen must heal. Kaelen must defeat his own inner demons-The Coward The Unbroken The Tyrant The Greedy The Machine-the physical manifestations of their worst selves.
