The city in the natural landscape

The natural landscape underlies the city; to reflect on its meaning is to come closer to identifying the original reasons for the first settlements and to understand the processes that defined their form of growth. The natural landscape is the structure and support of the urban landscape is the central idea around which this research revolves. It proposes to value and protect the natural elements of the city not only for their functional environmental and ecological value but also for their perceptive value recognizing their contribution in increasing the quality of the urban landscape which directly affects the feelings of belonging and identity of its inhabitants.
