<p>In Bloomington Indiana where humans and supernaturals maintain a fragile blood-stained truce the government's annual Cleansing is designed to keep the peace a sanctioned purge of anything deemed too dangerous to live. But this year the Cleansing came early. And it's spiraling into a full-blown civil war. Ash Caldwell is no hero. Just a cynical security guard working for a sleazy paranormal tabloid trying to keep his head down in a city that wants him dead. But when a bounty is placed on his head and an old flame returns with an army of vampiric super-soldiers Ash is dragged into a conspiracy that threatens to drown Bloomington in blood. Hunted by death squads vampire overlords and the woman he once loved Ash has only a handful of misfits standing by his side.
