THE COIN FLIP

<p>In 1857 Joe Quigley and Jim McDermott emigrated from <strong>Ireland to America</strong> <strong>wanting to become priests</strong>. Because they did not have the money for both to attend seminary they agreed to flip a coin and have the loser pay the winner to attend. When Joe lost he was <strong>devastated</strong>. With <strong>inner turmoil</strong> he <strong>tried hard to accept God's will</strong> and trust that it was for a better purpose. Wanting to be healed of his anger and resentment he <strong>prayed for peace</strong> and to know God's plan for his new direction. Decades later God showed him the answer to his initial question of Why Lord did I lose the coin flip? His heart burst with praise and gratitude for the <strong>unexpected blessings</strong> given in his later years. This <strong>engaging</strong> story shows how God works in the lives of <strong>ordinary people to do extraordinary things</strong>.</p>
