The Colonial Interlude and the Igbo Judicial Systems. Changes and Continuity

Seminar paper from the year 2017 in the subject History - Africa grade: 1 course: Cultural history language: English abstract: It is an undisputed historical fact that the British colonized the present day Nigeria Igboland inclusive. This piece is an attempt to study the British-Igbo intercourse during this period. As is customary of all intercourse of whatever character it is a two-way traffic. The finding of this study validated the fact that Igboland gave away more than it received in terms of customs and traditions as especially pronounced in the political and judicial institutions which had long served the Igbo prior to the advent of the British.
