In Côte d'Ivoire the teaching-learning of Spanish as a foreign language (ELE) is done exclusively with the use of textbooks. Through the activities of the manual the methodology in force is highlighted which is the Approach By Competence (EPC). Faced with the observation of difficulties of progression in learning we have dedicated ourselves to the analysis of the manuals from the methodological perspective of the EPC. The present work raises the problem of conformity of the textbooks to the CPE methodology and its effectiveness in contributing to a better learning of Spanish in Côte d'Ivoire.
