Bevington seems to accede to Shakespeare&rsquo;s nonconventional view of history when he writes. Shakespeare&rsquo;s scenes &ldquo;seriously challenge any providential view of history&rdquo; (&ldquo;Introduction&rdquo; unpaginated).</p>
