The Compliment Response Behavior of Intercultural Encounters

The book gives insight into the compliment response strategies used to respond to compliments the cultural norms governing these strategies the contextual factors determining CRs and the culture-specific strategies and perceptions that the American and the Tunisian participants seemed to hold when responding to compliments. The findings can be incorporated into a framework that uses the culture-specific strategies employed by the two groups as a reference for teachers who wish to design teaching activities that take into consideration the pragmatic aspects of the two participant groups’ language in use.
