The Conrad Chronicles

Book two of the Conrad Chronicles starts with Xavier of the House of Baldemar locked in a thousand cycle Death Duel with Gloria's twin sister Thera. While the battle rages Gloria Regal and the other Conrads of the Light struggle to heal the damage Xavier his Outcasts and his Carmine army have caused to the planet Karna and her inhabitants. As the Conrads of the Light work at advancing Karna's decimated technology they come to learn that during Karna's former years under the reigning High Kings ships of people left to colonize other planets. With nearly 700 cycles left until the end of the Death Duel Gloria Regal Zeplan Aspen and Julius depart Karna aboard the Galactic Falcon to search out these worlds. The first planet they find themselves on is Marvella which had been settled by the Davin's clan from Karna. They are amazed at the technologically advanced societies of Marvella her colonies and her sister planets. Though reluctant the time finally comes for the exploring Conrads to return to Karna to check on those they left behind and prepare for an attack on Cadawg Xavier's chosen planet when the death duel ends. Of course nothing goes as planned.
