<p>We've all had that creeping suspicion that the world outside our window is nothing more than a cheap special effect but Raelynn Mathis has the footage to prove it. When she spots a nondescript background extra appearing in dozens of unrelated viral videos she decides to drag him into her basement for a little unplanned maintenance convinced he holds the encryption key to our simulated reality. What follows is a relentless blood-soaked road trip through the uncanny valley where the line between a software glitch and a human soul is measured in duct tape and screams. It is a claustrophobic high-velocity nightmare that forces you to look at the strangers in the background of your own life and wonder if they are flesh and blood or just lazy code waiting to be deleted.</p>
