<p>Unveil the chilling tale of <strong>Mariam Soulakiotis</strong> a Greek Orthodox abbess whose life blurred the line between sanctity and savagery. Born Marina Soulakiotou in Keratea Greece she rose to prominence as the abbess of the Panagia Pefkovounogiatrissa Monastery. However beneath her religious façade she orchestrated a reign of terror that led to her being dubbed Mother Rasputin by the media.</p><p>Between <strong>1939</strong> and her arrest in <strong>1950</strong> Soulakiotis was implicated in numerous heinous acts including the manipulation and embezzlement of dowries from wealthy women who joined her convent. Her alleged crimes escalated to murder with estimates of her victims ranging from 27 to over 150. Despite her conviction and death in prison in <strong>1954</strong> her legacy endures with some followers venerating her as a martyr.</p><p> </p>
