He has earned degrees from Lenoir-Rhyne College (Hickory North Carolina) where he received a Doctor of Divinity degree in 2006 as well as Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary (Columbia South Carolina) where he received the J. Luther Mauney Leadership Award in 2004.
