This book aims to go beyond the stereotypes that shape our ideas of women. Marital Rape being one of the most brutal crime against women has detrimental effect on the wife the dread of having to face it and still have to silently suffer through it is an unbearable thought that effects the psyche of a woman.The lack of laws and abundant social stigmas against the act of marital rape is one of the primary reasons why women are not able to reach out for help and hence which effects the emotional and physical stability of a woman. The author argues that within the patriarchal walls and under the curtain of what we call a sacrosanct union of marriage this is totally negating the self worth of a woman and her autonomy over her own body. The book puts forth perspectives from public health human rights law & general well being to develop an intuitive analysis that tries to build up a system that ensures women''s entitlement to a good life and human rights.
