The Crisis of the Modern World

If the meaning of the title is to be grasped fully and all misinterpretation to be avoided the present volume's title alone necessitates some basic explanation. Some illusions are starting to disappear due to sheer force of circumstance and we cannot help but be glad that this is the case because it is at least a positive symptom and a sign that a readjustment of the contemporary mentality is still possible—a glimmer of light if you will—in the midst of the current chaos. Many no longer doubt the possibility of a world crisis taking the latter word in its most usual acceptation and this in itself marks a very noticeable change of outlook.
