<p>A few generations ago before Maputo became a city a giant snake would attack locals as they walked through the jungle to collect water from a nearby river.</p><p></p><p>One brave young woman decided to put an end to the threat. She cleverly tricked the snake into falling into a pot of boiled maize meal.</p><p></p><p>Wounded tired and weak from its injuries the snake finally collapsed and lay motionless.</p><p></p><p>To honor her bravery a statue was erected to commemorate the courage and sacrifice of the young woman who freed the community from danger and brought a better life to the village.</p><p></p><p>Based on a true story passed down through generations this tale has been adapted and written by Paulo J.
