In general international organizations show their interest in the issue of democracy through the adoption of legal instruments. These instruments set out the conception of democracy adopted by and binding on the member states. This is not the case of ECCAS which nevertheless allows its perception to emerge through its practice. Indeed ECCAS acts in favor of democracy through a diversity of practices. These suggest several declinations of the principle of democratic legitimacy in connection with electoral observation political stability and transitional governance. From this point of view ECCAS represents a real support for the democratic doctrine in Central Africa.
