THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO PUTTING THE PRINCIPLE OF POPULAR SOVEREIGNTY TO THE TEST

Sovereignty in the Democratic Republic of Congo faces many obstacles that are not conducive to its proper functioning. In this context this book seeks to elucidate certain pitfalls that hinder the effective exercise of sovereignty and to propose solutions to remedy them. The book focuses on both national and popular sovereignty. Our manual thus defined places particular emphasis on the application of state sovereignty.Contrary to the principles established by the law certain practices have been found to dominate in an abusive manner hence the need to establish clear and effective sovereignty. For this reason we take a look at the evolution of sovereignty from the Congolese monarchy to the advent of state sovereignty. As far as our country is concerned we hope that legislators and the judiciary will become aware of their responsibilities and fully exercise their prerogatives. Hence the need for a patriotic awareness indispensable to the affirmation of true sovereignty.
