The demands of this millennium require an in-depth understanding of how communication and culture differ from one language/culture to another given the endless opportunities of interacting with people from different cultural backgrounds. As a continuum of previous trends in ELT Intercultural Communicative Competence (ICC) stresses the importance of equiping the twenty-first century learner with the necessary attitudes knowledge and skills to play effective roles in today''s globalized world. As a result this research investigated Moroccan EFL university students'' ICC and how this envisaged outcome was developed among students as they move from lower to higher levels. Furthermore the findings of this researh paved the ground to reflect upon various implications and applications in the EFL classroom.
