Pulled from the legends of the Realms of the Dreamlands of H.P. Lovecraft The Dirges of the Alabaster Kings sing the lament of the rise and fall of the fallen first city Ruined Thran and the annals of a great line of eldritch Alabaster Kings who consorted with Hypnos and Morpheus to forge the Realms of Dream and partition those kingdoms from the Waking in politic. Their pact with the lords of sleep birthed a cosmos of shadow and resonance ruled from the alabaster keep where thrones aligned with aeonic harmonies and dream itself bent to will. But even in dream nothing perfect holds. In the age before Celephais rose as the Dreamlands' splendid jewel the Alabaster Keep stood against tides more insidious than time. Hosts of nightmare and the slow erosion of insomnia gnawed at its white walls weakening the thrones of harmony from within. When pride turned inward and song gave way to silence the great lattice of ordered dreaming collapsed. What remains now are dirges-solemn echoes of kingship flickers of sacred light buried in ruin and the whispered procession of names too old to remember yet impossible to forget.
