The Drama of Self in Guillaume Apollinaire's Alcools

This volume closely follows Guillaume Apollinaire's search for self-knowledge through eight poems of <i>Alcools</i>. The study analyzes the dramatic personae and metaphors found in these poems and broaches ideas of the changing nature of the self fragmentation and reintegration dispersion montage and catharsis in the poet's work of 1913.
